MONEY TIPS FOR CENTRAL AMERICA
  • Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua share one 90 day visa zone (the CA-4). Days in one count in all four.
  • Tourist shuttles cost 3-5x a chicken bus. Mixing both is the easiest way to drop your daily spend.
  • Carry some US dollars. El Salvador and Panama use them, and they get you out of a jam at every border.

AUD per person, based on what Aussies and Kiwis spend on the ground in 2026. Daily numbers cover your bed, food, buses between towns and everyday activities. Flights swing a lot with dates and how early you book. Entry fees and visa rules change, so check the Visa Checker before you go.
